I just installeda new T-56 in my car and had a question. There seems to be alot of slap, and its noisey. What I mean by this is, at low speeds if I take my foot off the gas I hear a metallic clank, then when I hit the gas again the noise happens again. It seems a bit exessive but I have also been told this trans. is a bit noisey with somethings. Any ideas? thanks

 

How does your tranny mount look? Are your u-joints in good shape?

 

every 03 04 cobra with low miles or high milesthat I have drove has did the same thing I wouldnt worry about it

T-56 transmission vary as far as noise. Mine was on the noisy side. I had a fair amount of gear noise which prompted me to design my shifter gasket set. That eliminated a lot of the gear noise. But again, every car is different. Some as you can see above are relatively quiet.

 

I have a CobraBob gasket ready for my T56 swap.

 

I have one U joint that got messed up on install, nothing major and I am about due to pull it all back apart to do some maint. on the car, will fix that. The tranny is extremly quiet when it comes to whine, the slap/clank when I let off and hit the gas was my only concern, I dont want to break a input shaft or anything. Thanks
