The last few times I have driven my car it seems to stumble badly when I take off. This usually happensthe first time I get it up to 4K RPM and it seems to only do itin 1st and 2nd gear. My dad, who sold me the car, said the traction control would make the car act like this. When I heard that I made sure I turned it off the next time I went out. Well, it did it again. This time I stayed in the throttle a little to see if any of my gauges told me anything (got nothing). The next thing I noticed was that the Theft idiot light was flashing. I am clueless on this. Several things are running through my head:

Electrical short causing the computer to act up
Traction Control freaking out and kicking in when the wheels are not spinning
Fuel pump (GT twin pumps)
Trash in the gas or fuel filter (hope this is what it is!!)

I also noticed, since this started, that every once in awhile the fuel pressure will go to zero when I am just cruising. Any ideas would help.

Changed the fuel filter. No luck. When I took it out for a test drive I noticed it was more like the engine was shutting off and then back on. It was almost like I was trying to push start the car. The fuel pressure was fine. Any ideas?

Ended up being a bad altenator.
