what year cobra you got? If its a non 03/04 then yeah gears. But with gears you will need a tuner because it will mess up your speedo.

Oh really hmm not you got me something to think about. I'm still concerned about my speedometer being inacurate. I might not go as high if I decide to get gears then. But the installation price is probably expensive?

Installation price can vary - mine cost 200 bucks to install.. but you also need a tuner to recalibrate your speedo though..

As far as what type of gears.. It depends on what you plan on doing with your car. I had a 3.90 gear in my 04 GT, and loved it. I think 4.10s are a waste of a gear, if you want a 4.10 might as well get a 4.30. If you don't have the suspension for the 4.30's you might as well get a 3.73, which is a good all around gear. I personally like the 3.90 gear, it's a good comprimise between 3.73 and 4.10..

go for the gears. like everyone on this board has been saying, it will increase the "pep". it will seem faster with the gears then it would if you put pullies. they're not really expensive to install either.

Buy an XCal2 and voila! Your speedo is corrected for the gears. Take that same XCal to a tuner with a dyno, BAM! more horsepower.

what is there not to convince you? It is widely acknowledged on EVERY mustang board that the best mod you can do for these cars short of FI is .......... gears!

Too much money right now. Gears seem the way to go but then I'll have to get the XCal2 and pay for the installation. I might just go with Bassani Aluminized X-Pipe with cats for $271.95. (Need cats for PA inspection). So I'll be gaining a nicer sound and some gain in power.

please dont put an aluminized exhaust system on in PA. Spend the $ and go Stainless Steel. It'll last you MUCH longer, trust me.

FWIW, I just put a Bassani catted X on. (previously had justBassani cat-back, stock H). not really sure I love it. It sounds kinda like a really deep, really muscular Civic w/ fart can. Maybe it still needs to burn in or something. I dunno. I think it sounded better with just the cat-back.

Yeah I figured stainless steel would be much better. I put in aluminized to see what you guys would say. I could of told ya a bassani cb would sound better than the x-pipe unless combined. I don't really know what to get now. I'll keep looking into mods I can do

? they ARE combined. I didnt take off my cat-back, just added a Bassani mid-pipe as well.

I had an aluminized Flowmaster exhaust on my Firebird. After 1 winter in PA all the welds were rusted pretty bad and lots of spot rusting on the muffler itself. I later swapped it for a SS Magnaflow exhaust, and after 3 years (dirt aside) it still looked good as new.
