01 Cobra Questions
New guy here, duh, anyway I currently have a 93 Mazda RX-7 but I've had an 89 GT and a 93 Cobra. I'm back in the market for a new stang and I've been looking at Saleens and Cobras. I have found a 01 Cobra Vertwith a Vortech Supercharger with 61k miles for $18,500. Any advice you guys can give me about what to look for before I might possibly buy this car?
I've always loved Mustangs but decided I wanted something really different and bought my 93 RX-7 with 26k original milesa while back and took the time to learn the rotary motor and the twin turbo system and I just miss the whole Mustang thing. My RX-7 is for sale but if I can come to agreements on this Cobra then I'm gonna go ahead and pick it up. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I dunno, it doesn't sound like a horrible deal, but I'm sure you could do better. I'd look to spend 15-16k at most on an 01, and if I'm paying $18,500, I'd want less than 61k miles on it, S/C or not. For that price you could save up another couple thousand and get an 03-04 Cobra that already has a supercharger and built motor.

As for this 01 Cobra. I drove it and it does have a lot of power. The guy says it made 427hp ona dyno( I'm assuming that'sfrom the crank?). What I know about it is Vortech Charger (running 8lbs of boost), 42lb injectors, BBK Headers and Flowmaster Mufflers with 3 inch exhaust. That's all I know about it at this point but is 427 a stretch? Thanks again for your input.

Yeah I'd look to bring him down a bit that's pretty high mileage for 18K look for a termi!
