Default RE: Stock injectors?

ORIGINAL: Blownsvt

the stock injectors and pumps run out at about the 475rwhp mark. i hit 522 rwhp with my stage 2 stegie. had 60# injectors and a bap. along with the other goodies
Well, that's not really true. In most cases the stock injectors are good for at least 525rwhp. The stock fuel pumps usually do start to peak at around 500rwhp. The meter usually starts to peak at around 480-490rwhp. I made 506rwhp with the stock injectors. I only had to upgrade my pumps and the meter.

To be safe (and to be nice to your tuner), if you're going to port you blower and you are making 14+ lbs. of boost, then it makes sense to definitely upgrade your pumps to the Ford GT pumps (or the BAP) and upgrade your meter rather than wait to see if you'll run out of fuel. Injectors are optional but if it were me I'd go for the 60lb. injectors now vs. waiting until you absolutely need them. It is worth noting that although the majority of people making 480-510rwhp can get by with their stock injectors (I was one of them), there are indeed a few who have needed to upgrade sooner. And the larger injectors make your fuel system not have to work quite as hard. Which is why I say even if you'll likely be fine with the stock injectors, I just think it is prudent to upgrade now. JMO.

i have heard you can get away with the maf and a bap, or do the maf and injectors without the bap. who knows each car runs a little different too.
