I have an 03 with the stock eaton, I want more when I get back from deployment but dont wanna go too crazy.
I would like to go with a whipple but dont know what all needs to be done. Fuel system? Will it be okay with the stock heads, cams? How much??

Thanks!

heads and cams will be fine, you will need different plugs htough. you will want to get 60# injectors and a boost a pump in the way of fuel system upgrades. you will need a mafia at least as well. if you go with a 2.3 whipple which go for about 3200 i would guesstimate a touch over 4k if you do all the work your slef and don't get anyhting other than what i mentioned.

60lbs inj, bap, and mafia / or BA2400 MAF... along with a tuner... then, depending on your boost and aggressiveness of the tune, you should see 550-600rwhp on 93octane! I do this setup about 2-3 times a week LOL

You can actually get the black 2.3 whipple for about $2900 shipped. Give Steve over at Tousley Ford a call that is who gave me that quote.

For the whipple.. they gave you really what you'll need to get it to run but you're missing a few things still...

SUSPENSION.. you will need to lock down the IRS, or swap it for a straight rear axle... Definatly look at that, or you will blow your stock IRS eventually...

COOLING MODS: You definatly want to upgrade your heat exchanger, get a head cooling mod, radiator, and tstat...

One more little side note: I would not go with the cam package, a lot of money for little reward. Also, most guys don't go the head route either - I mean yeah our heads kinda suck - but unless you're tearing down the motor and going to be tracking it everyday - that's another thing where you probably won't get much help from. If you just want a low-mid 600rwhp Terminator get the whipple, and your cooling mods and be done with it. Just don't do anything stupid - the heads/cams you will spend a ton of money on and probably won't get much of a reward - might as well get a twin or a HUGE single turbo for the same money.

I dont know what people in your neck of the woods will charge ya for the install and tune, but i can tell you that your combination is EXTREMELY common and most reputable tuners could do that via mailorder.. I have done it a number of times... I could also supply ya with inj/maf/mafia...

thanks
