Hello again guys. I'm probably the only member posting threads and don't even have the vehicle i purchased in my hands yet. but can ya blame me for planning ahead!? haha.

Alright. Now I'd like to learn about lowering and wheel/tire setups. I certainly want to lower the car. I also want to upgrade wheels/tires cause the cobra is coming with 17" aluminums, but wasn't planning on doing wheels/tires just yet. Do I wait until I decide to get new wheels/tires before lowering it?

I was thinking of doing something along the lines of 18x 10"'s in the back and 17x 8.5/9's in the front. I don't know if thats acobra no-no? So if you guys wouldnt mind posting ur lowering specs and what kind of rims, tires and sizes that would be awesome.

The only thing that I know of that is really a no no is putting 17x10.5 on the rears with IRS. Even with spacers, still wouldnt recomend it. I've got eibach springs on mine but I've heard good things about H&R too. I left the wheels stock, they are just too light weight to swap.

 

I've got 10.5's on the back of my Cobra and have no rub issues at all.A lot depends on what tire you're running. H&R Race or SS springs look the best on Cobra's. When I'm ready to, I'm going with the Race springs with no top isolator's.

 

the 03 cobra had a little different IRS than the 01, maybe why 10.5s dont rub. Eibachs look really good too though, the sport springs drop it about 1.6 all the way around and have a really nice ride. Heard nothing but good about H&R too though
