Questions from a new SN-95 Cobra owner!
Just wanted to ask a few questions to the 4v guys since I'll be picking up a Crystal White 1997 Cobra with 87k on the clock.
That being said, before I ask any other questions, will I need to do any kind of major mechanical tuneup assuming that the previous owner did all the scheduled maintenance?
I'll be trading him my GT without the blower and trans, so those will be the first two things to go into the new car along with my subframes and some new solid LCAs. What are some known RWHP numbers for the 96-98 Cobra's with only a blower and a catback? I'm assuming that the bottom ends are just as weak as the GT's so I'll hit that 450 HP magic number and I'll start having the same problems as a new edge 2v, so I'm aware of that and I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
Should I gear the car or leave it with the stock ratio? It will be an 85% DD / 15% Strip car so I don't want anything crazy. I'd like to cruise easily in 4th or even 3rd.
Other than this I'm looking forward to owning an SVT product!!

If the previous owner did all scheduled work, maybe just cleaning your IMRC's. My car is strickly a daily driver except when challenged and I've got 4:10s. I would at least suggest 3:73s. Just depends on how aggressive you wanna go with the car. Blower and trans is a pretty aggressive start

regardless of what he tells you, i would change the engine oil/filter, tranny oil, plugs/wires, and gear oil. its worth the extra insurance and piece of mind knowing for sure it was done.
