Default Oil Pressure

Hi, I have a 1997 Cobra and i have a problem. When I am above 3-4 thousand RPM and i am flooring it my oil pressure go's from the middle to the bottom of low almost at Zero. I instantly stoped but when i restarted it which probly wasnt the greatest thing it was back in the middle of the gauge. But again when i am on the throttle the pressure drops and then when i lay off it gos to the middle. Has anyone ever had this happen or could it be a gauge or the oil pump.

Thanks

You don't mention oil level, but I assume your crankcase is full. You might have clogged passages in the heads that is not allowing the oil to drain back to the pan fast enough. You also could have a faulty pressure regulating valve, a bad sensor, or a loose connection somewhere.
