Sustained high speeds

RE: Sustained high speeds
Why turn that many rpm's if you dont have too? Gears are a cheap way to insure your new, expensive shortblock will last a long time. WIth the kb especially, you'll have more than enough power to chug along at 120 at only 3 grand. Take everyones advice, and good luck on the project.

I am not going to have to be at 120 for too long as Ive figured out .A friend of mine has actually done it before and he says I have to average about 95 to win for the class I want to enter I do not have the prerequisites to do any of the other groups. I will only have to be at really high speeds for only a few minutes to componsate for the narrows.120 is at just under 5000 revs with my current transmission and with the t56 It should be closer to 4000 rpms. That should be in the acceptable range with a good radiator and the EVEN FLOW right?
