Default tires

Looking at getting a set of nitto dr's for the car. Will 315's fit on my stock rims? I know the nittos are suppose to run smaller than the bfg dr's or et streets.

you'll have problems fitting 315's if you still have the irs.

later.

You didn't mention the wheel width you are running. Unless you have 10.5" (or wider), 315's are NOT rated to fit (none I have seen anyway). I have heard of people running 315's on as small as a 9" rim, but is a bad idea, IMO.They would be a much better fit on 10"s, but would recommend you stay within the manufacturers specs as it will fit properly as well as not be a liability issue. Of course, as 526 mentioned, you can have fitment probs on IRS Cobra. You can run 10.5"s with spacers,as I do,but will require you to replace rear lug-bolts to accomodate them. Having IRS will introduce clearance issues I don't have, so you need to do some research.

A thread about 2 weeks back in SVT section addresses wide rims on IRS and has some usefull info, so seek it out

Well I know tires like the 315 bfg dr's and the 315 et streets won't fit the stock 17x9 rims, but I have been told by many others that the nittos will since they run narrower. I know there a quite a bit of people who are actually running that setup and say they work well. And yes it is still the irs.

Ya I actually saw them on stock cobra rims yesterday. I think I am just going to go ahead and get the 275's.

all the 315's fit the 9 inch rim including the Mickey Drag radials which are the widest! Ive had all of them on my factory 17 by 9 inch wheels. With braided brake lines you might have to check that they don't rubb but thats it.

You are the first person I heard that from. Were you using spacers?

I am running 315/35 17 on the stock 17x9 wheel. They do bulge out and would fit better on a 10 inch wheel but I haven't had any clearance or other problems with them. This is actually my 2nd set of the Nittos
