Fixed. For ya buddy..

I am not taking it personally. However, you're still trying to justify what your friend said as true when it's not. You asked a question, which got answered. The fact that your friend that's a mechanic is really probably only a mechanic in name only and is really a part changer. That is what it is. He's probably seen 1 or 2 Cobras with that issue and now all the Cobras have that issue. I am sorry, but if I see a tiny sample of something, I am not going to turn around and generalize that issue for the whole brand - that's just stupid and irresponsible in a position such as his, when some other ignorant people go and listen to his opinions and think that it's true. Then said ignorant person goes and spreads the myth to another 5 people because he "heard that from a friend that is a mechanic".

You got your answer now swallow it.

/thread.

My friend is a mechanic and says that the SVT Cobramotors are known for burning valves at about 90k miles. Is this true if so is it preventable.

If your considering the rationale used by your mechanic to be "true". You could say the something negative about EVERY brand of vehicle ever made. Like others have said, every vehicle type make and model has had a FEW that have had problems, that doesn't mean the make model are "known" for it.
