Default How the hell do you guys do it?

So, I've been racing stangs for years. Probably went down the 1/4 several hundred times, but I got my *** thoroughly handed to me by my new Cobra. HOW DO YOU GUYS LAUNCH WITH AN IRS!?!? I could barely control the wheel hop. I was gonna run the stickies I have for my GT, but didn't wanna snap a half shaft. So I was on 245/45 General UHP's. My best 60 was 2.3 and my best 1/4 was 13.75@105 hopping through first and a bit in second. How do you do it guys?

No problems here...With a stock DOT tire I cut a 2.05 60' time and ran a 12.56@116.01...Put on my Nitto DR's and cut a 1.85 60' and ran 12.09@117.55....

..I come out at 2,100 rpms, let the wheels bite, and let it rip!

If you are really having problems with it, you could replace all of the bushings with a good polyurethane compound. that fixes a lot of the problems that the cobra's IRS has.

Yeah, I was looking into either the steeda kit or the maximum motorsports kits, and also some coilovers front and rear.

The bushings are the first step, Get the aluminum bushings. Also get the tools to remove the old rubber bushings. Its a bitch.

Also when your at the strip, its better to hook then spin. cobras are different because they break crap if they spin more then they do if they hook. If we spin we have wheel hop and those fast vibrations breakkk crap. I turn 1.5 60' times all night, Don't just sidestep your clutch when you launch. Ride it out real fast, no popping allowed.
