I have a 98 cobra with 40k. A rod is knockin and im going to get it rebuilt. What cubic inch is the cobra (4.6) and since its gonna be out of the car what can i do as far as bang for the buck mods? Im no mechanic im just lookin for some advice

4.6's are 281 cubic inch.

dude, forge your engine! Thats what I'm in the process of right now. You have a nice block, Teksid block, it can hold a lot of power. You already have a forged crankshaft. You could buy some low cost forged pistons and rods and have a nice low budget forged engine.

Thanks for the advice ! That is the way im leaning. While the motor is out do you think i should have any head work done? Headers?

might as well do longtubes if you have the money becuase it is much easier with the engine out
