alright, my dad had said if i took over the payments of his Shelby which is 500 a month (easy) i could have his car cause he wants to get rid of it but doesn't wanna get rid of it.

my question is what what kind of power can a pulley, intake and tune give you? can you port the stock blower like you can on the 03-04 cobras? if so what kind of power does that put out.

my dads gt500 yesterday put down 554 rwhp with a pulley, intake, tune and full exhaust. we dynoed it at every stage. stock was 410. added full bassani exhuast and a afco heat exchanger and it put down 450 without any tuning. tuned it for the exhuast and it bumped to 480. then we installed a C&L intake and it jumped to 501. then we swapped to a 2.6 pulley and tuned and it peaked at 554. exhaust and a tune was good for almost 70 whp although the bassani stuff was big bucks at 1500 for the headers 260 for the x pipe and 500+ for a axle back.

 

yeah parts for the car are so expensive. can you port the blower like the cobras?

 

i don't personally know anyone who has. I would bet it can be done though. I would look on svtp to see if anyone has.

i like it. pretty loud and snappy. i think it drones a little loud for my dads liking at cruising speed but it sounds good to me.

 

i havnt seen one ported, im sure you could but most gt500 people just throw whipples on them or go with a pulley swap. They make really good numbers. As far as bassani goes they make quality parts that everyone seems to love. But they are really pricey

 

How much HP can the GT500's stock block handle?? ...does it have forged internals like the 03/04 Cobra?

 

Here you go OP. This is the same guy that does the 03-04 cobras. I would work on getting a tubbular K-member and some weight savings for that pig thou haha.
