97 Cobra "chirping/sqweaking" sound

put the socket wrench on the belt tensioner, twist it to relieve the pressure,then spin all the idlers by hand, im thinking its something stupid like a bearing on a pulley.

the only other thing would be the alternator.... grrr thisis aggravating

MAD SVT,

Amazing what alil belt-dresssing will do isnt it? lol, have never heard a belt sqweal like that, had a definite metalic chirp to it for sure!!

yea, i guess thats the best of all the possibilities i could have asked for! Thats not like my luck though, its usually the worst case scenario for me! lol Anyway thanks bunches bro! Appreciate the help! peace

Did you ever find the solution to this? I am having the same issue here. When first started in the AM, it squeeks like the clutch is slipping on the flywheel. Then after 30 sec or so, it stops. The tone changes a bit when I apply the clutch, but not a lot. I just recently changed all the idler pullies also, so that is not it.

Is the noise coming from the front of the motor or the back? If you kno the pullies are good, and the belt isnt glazed, then its probably a TOB
