Anyone have any advice on alternator/generator on 96 Cobra?
My check battery light comes on intermittently until the engine warms up which covers about 5 miles.
I have checked every connection except inside the alternator as I have a Vortech supercharger that will have to be removed.
From the shop manual it looks like brushes, voltage regulator, and alternator itself could be the culprit.
Would I be better off just replacing the alternator?

Does it seem like its hard to start, it could be your battery. Or if it is the alt, pull it and bring it to your local autozone, ect. and have them test it for free

 

starts fine and runs fine. For whatever reason when the motor is cold I get the light and sometimes the charging guage drops until I goose it and the guage will go back to normal and usually stay there.
