I'm currently an owner of an 89' 2.3 turbo mustang here in Tampa Florida. I have recently become disgusted with my car mainly because i've dumped about 4 grand into and being very disappointed or otherwise disgruntled so I've recently become motivated to move on to the 4.6 world of things. Now i do know a little and have read many things about the 4.6, but reading doesn't make me as comfortable. I mainly want to move to a 4.6 powered car for the aftermarket support. I don't like trying to source custom parts anymore. I just want to start with a already solid platform from which to build.

Questions....What would you pay for cobra between 99-2002? Its otherwise excellent shape seems to run good. What do you look for on a 4.6 DOHC? What are common things that break or fail? Do cobras hold up to high miles?

That's because it was!!! They also say that the Cobra Engine was touched by LUCIFER himself!

 

If I was in your boat, I'd get that one from the Orlando posting. It looked really good and 67k miles is not all that bad being that its definitley over 5 years old. But good luck with whichever you decide.

99 Cobras didn't have "COBRA" embossed on the rear.

The LS1 can be taken ALOT FURTHER than the 4.6 4v, NUFF SAID...

In the end, it really IS all about cubic inches...
