Default header bolt question?

So i got a 04 cobra engine for a swap in my mustang, I went to take off the headers (one i crushed that is why) and noticed that the headers were held in by studs, and nuts???? is this normal on cobras or is this aftermarket?

Well I don't know about the 04 engine but i've had two 98s (1GT and 1SVT) and a 99SVT and all three were held in by studs and nuts. The studs will back out fairly easy, just be careful not to break them if you are replacing with bolts *locking bolts are good here.*

But My dad told me when he took off the oil filter, the threads that the oil filter screws onto were loose and there was a hex shaped head.... is there a special tool for this?
