I need to know why in the several mustangs i've owned the running lights wont activate the fog lights? I always see other mustangs running around with just the running lights on and their fog lights work? Is this a mod or something or should it work stock? Thank you guys in advance!

Also, ordered my engine today, went with CHP. Got the 5.0L because it's just easier because the bore size matches the silly-heads and the head gasket. Would have liked the 5.1 tho.

 

What compression ratio is your new engine going to be?

Also, it is NOT a mod. In all 4 Mustangs that I have owned 98-02, the fog lights work with the running lights.

 

The new engine will be a 9.2c/r. Wanted to keep it low for the boost later. Plans are either a single or twin turbo setup.

About the fog lights, this is my 4th V8 stang and only one of them ever worked with the running lights and fog lights at the same time. Anything I can check to get this fixed? I really wanna be able to run with the running lights and fog lights on without the head lights.

 

Is their a button in your style stang for the fogs? I know in the 99-04s, their is a button by the shifter for the fogs. So what you do is turn your running lights on and then hit the button for your fogs.

 

lol yeah I knew that one. They come on when the headlights do but not when only the running lights come on. I know I can't be the only person that has this trouble cuz this is my 3rd one that doesn't do it. They were all the 94-98 style that didn't do it. The one I had that did was a 99 Cobra.

 

Have you tried asking this over on SVTP? They have a whole section for your year cobra and I'm sure you will get a faster and the best answer there.

 

Nah, haven't asked this over there yet. Honestly I haven't paid it much attention until now but I'd really like this fixed. I'll post it over there as well.
