Default pivot ball

Does anyone know if the clutch fork pivot ball is adjustable? 98 Cobra stock drivetrain.

It is just screwed in. You can unscrew it. I would unscrew it, then find a nut that will fit onto the threads. Thread on the nut all the way, adjust the pivot ball to where you want it, then tighten the nut down. Sucks cuz you gotta drop the tranny to adjust it.

Guess i know what i will be doing soon,, new clutch was put in (by ford dealer) about 8,000 miles ago right before i got the car and ever sence it had sliped in 3rd,4th,an 5th when you would mash on it,, till i bought a new addjustable cable , quadrant, and firewall addjuster,, even then,, when addjusting the cable to get the clutch to release, the throw out bearring would have to be engaged into the pressure plate an inch or more or it wouldn't release.

In other words, if the throw out bearring was addjusted to barely contact the pressure plate fingures the clutch wouldn't release for no amount of money. As it stands now the clutch has to be all the way to the floor just to release an when you let up, it starts grabbing less than a inch off the floor, if it is addjusted any farther it will slip in the high gears.

I believe they put the wrong clutch in ,,, never in my life have had a pedal take hold so early off the floor travel all the way up to the bump stop and still need to come a couple more inches up to be fully engaged. That is why the question about the pivot ball, thought maybe it was addjustable an they screwed it all the way in!!

I really dread getting in there and finding they put a stock GT clutch in it, but, that is what i think they did!! Any ideas???? Thanks!

Mine engages right off the bottom too. I put a clutch in mine, and it's an 11" setup for an 01 Cobra. Holds good for me though... chirps the DRs in 4th. Still annoying how it grabs so low. If you end up pulling it and adjusting the pivot stud fixes the problem, let me know.
