On the contrary, if NEO has every (serious) intention to build a nice/well built vehicle with turbo's, why wouldn't he just buy a GT and save a few THOUSAND dollars. Same block...different head.

It is offensive that you don't even take the time to get to know me and automatically assume I have no skill, knowledge, or patience to work on a car. I have been around cars my entire life and driving vehicles since I could reach the controls. I have almost all the tools I would need, including ingenuity, to rebuild a entire car in my garage. Now how much money do you think MFJ has spent on his car? I know how much I've spent on my 6, 6500, that's including the cost of the car and it IS well built I have never had a single problem from it for almost 3 years of beating on it non stop. If I weren't in college and were working a full time job (which I could have just by telling my manager) I'm sure I would have a lot more cash to do the things I want (and don't give me the living on your own deal cause I already have lived on my own and was handling it just fine).

Now the reason I don't just get a GT is because I want a Cobra, always have, but I'm not a trust fund baby so i could afford one for a first car. I settled for a cheap V6 and played with it, now I have the resources to get the car I wanted which is what it is ultimately about RIGHT? Sorry for the rant but it just hits a nerve when people just assume I'm a douche because I have a v6 mustang that I didn't leave stock.

I just assumed that you were a douche with no knowledge because you claimed your v6 can out run a bolt on GT, without a power adder, lol. Then again, what do I know about going fast? I'm stupid like that.

yes your right, I can't stand lying about it anymore! My mustang is as good as a honda with a fart can on it. All I'm seeking is the approval of some people with fast cars on the internet i never have and never will meet. OH it's such a horrible life driving something that's not a V8
(/sarcasm in case you can't tell)

OP - I'm sure you will be happy with a 99/01 cobra. You can always build it up to where you want it to be at. If you can swing it, try and get a 01 cobra. How soon are you looking to buy?

pretty much as fast as i can get a deal set up :P but yeah I was hoping for a 01 too I'm mainly holding off so far because I can't decide between hard top or a vert i have a vert now and like it but i dislike the twist in the body around corners

Oh hey...while this thread is still open...what year GT did you outrun? 1987?

well considering this thread was and is for getting info on what to look for in a car to buy and all you want to do is troll im not going to indulge you.

now a lot of what im seeing for sale are the 99 models, are they really that bad in comparison to a 01? cause i see a 99 vert i'm really liking and im still not 100% on exactly what the 01 fixes solve, is it just the cooling mod?

also my thing is not so much straight lines, don't get me wrong I'll go to a strip and do some runs but i much prefer taking the car around corners and pushing the limits. that being said if I get a vert how are they with the body flex? the one I'm looking at has full length sub frame connectors welded in, would that make enough of a difference to be worth looking at?

Nope. He beat a bolt on 1984 with the old carbureted 5.0 that was only running on 4 cylinders at the time.
