Idk about the OPs car, but mine runs good with 140,000. Been spraying it with a 100 shot for the past 5,000 or so miles. I think they last pretty well as long as you keep oil in them- a guy on SVTP has 240,000 miles on his shortblock, and he makes like 380 hp n/a

The biggest problem with the IMRC plates is that overtime they
get gummed up and start sticking definitley delete your IMRC plates
or clean them. There are write up's all over the internet about how to
delete your IMRC plates and everyone I know that had them deleted them.
A good start to mods would be installing FRPP 3.73 or 4.10 gears, subframe connectors,,K&N drop in air filter or cold air intake etc.
What condition is your clutch in?
You could also install a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch you will love it.
LOL................ CF BABY! It fixed my problem with my air conditioning even.

This Vortec kit just went for $900 on ebay with intercooler and methanol kit. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Vorte...Q5fAccessories As far as bolt ons, gears are about the only other thing worth your money. I would go with 4.10's there isn't that much difference in the rpm range from 3.73's. If you delete the IMRC's it will hurt you on low end but help up to 10hp in the high rpm's. I bought my IMRC deletes from MMR. You should probably clean them like others have said if you keep them. A good DYNO tune might help, too. If your cams were not properly degree'd when they rebuilt the engine you can lose up to 30hp which was a problem on the early cobra's anyhow from the factory. I would watch some of the multiple websites and try to catch a deal on a supercharger.

if you have alot of bolt ons then buy a tuner next!

Port the upper manifold and put a single blade throttle body on it. Dont put nothin bigger than a 373.
