I found the guy today about 1/2 hour ago. He sounded very interested on doing a trade. I am going to try for a straight up trade. This is what I was told about it: it's a 2003, 86,000 miles, x-pipe, flowmaster, dynoed 427hp (he said flowmaster x-pipe and steeda cat-back but it just doesn't sound right), mineral gray, spoiler delete, and mentioned he had $3k in paint work done just before over heating real bad. He claims there is only an issue with the top end. It got so hot it melted 2 coils. He did say he had to talk to the wife/girlfriend (don't remember what she is) about the trade. I found out my GT has a Tremic tranny and a brand new clutch when I changed the throwout bearing.

He also said that the last major overheat happend almost 3 years ago, so I figure a few days before Christmas 2008. And has been sitting outside since.

Good Luck from MA.
I think I would do it .."Just because its a TERMINATOR "But those motor are pricey even used.
Your could aways find the motor and SC seperated and it maybe cheaper.

If its what you want to do..Then go for it !!!

I called up one of the junk yards my work gets discounts from and they wanted $7500 for a complete used motor (with blower), but a reman long block from Ford (a dealer I worked at for a couple years) is $3900 with a 3 year 36k mile warranty.

I'm going to be looking at it either tomorrow (depending on weather), or Thursaday. He didn't say anything about extra cash so it sounds like a straight up trade. Plus I don't want to or going to pay sales tax on that. I'll keep the $1000 it'll cost me for tax to put towards a new motor.

I just got back from seeing the Cobra. I tried to call the owner and no answer. So I decided to see it anyway. The body and underneath looks good. There is some pitch on the body, The top of the windshield looks wavy. The trunk lid gap isn't perfect, the driver side is a perfect fit for gap and height, the passenger side is good on the top and the gap is close above the tail light. Then theres the interior. The suede on all seats looks like it needs a heavy cleaning, with stains on the driver seat. Mold in the cup holders and on the console. Stains on the carpet, especially on the back of the console on the driver side. There was a dead rat next to the rear speaker on the passenger side, on the rear window deck. There was also some rat dropping inside the car. The spark plugs were on the passenger floor with the coil covers. Like mentioned before I was unable to get a hold of the owner, so I couldn't open the doors, hood or trunk. I'm thinking my GT is definitely worth more than the Cobra. With all this info about the Cobra, what is the value of it? On the way back my dad was telling me the most he would probably pay for it is $3500.

This post took about an hour to figure out what else to add, and to get everything all known issues to this point.

Oh wow that's just sad that he let the car get that bad. Ya I would agree that your gt is prolly worth more cause you really have no idea how bad that termi is. Keep your eyes open man one will come along. Svtperformance has a good sale section that's how I found my car and sold my old one. Good luck dude

Sounds good Blackvenom01, thanks. I'll take a look over there. Also my boss has a dealer license, so I'll have him check at the auction for one.
