Smog Pump - 98' Cobra

hello all. my buddy is replacing his headers on his 98 cobra. we do not intend to put the smog pump back on. will his car run ok? or will we need to "trick" the O2 sensor or any other computer aspect?

it will run ok but should get a tune anyways
