Well, its been a long time coming, but that time for me to get an 03/04 Cobra is right around the corner. I am about to get a rather large re-enlistment bonus within the next few months or so and my plan is to try and find one that already has a KB s/c on. However if I have to go the route of buying a cobra that is stock or just bolt-ons I would be purchasing a KB 2.8H and probably some comp cams magnum 292. My question is this: How difficult is the install of this particular s/c, any special tools needed, any custom fabrication, and will I need any machine work or anything of that nature done? I've already contacted a local company and got an estimate for the install and dynotune and it was $850 so I'm trying to decide if its better to fork over that cash and know its done right or take it into my own hands.
I'm not a newbie to working with my hands, I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade and know my way around cars pretty well, just never attempted anything like this. I would have a friend who installed turbo on his is300, so some experience.

This, if you dont know what your doing, dont touch the cams... Even if you dont know what your doing, you can still install the supercharger ^^. Very basic and simple hand tools are all you will need, and maybe a torque wrench.
