The odometer on my 97 Cobra stopped working a week or so ago right at 145987... the fix was a new set of odometer gears... Them little buggers are expensive for all they are - $34.99! Got them from Late Model restoration. Ground shipping was about 10 bucks so I figured I'd make it worth my while and order a new TPS as well ($29.99).

Installed them both this morning - both installs went smoothly. As soon as I fired it up, it ran very rough but once the car "learned" that there was a new TPS, it smoothed right out. My idle is much smoother, and now the odometer works too (not sure if that is a good thing or not :-) ). The old gear was intact but had turned soft and brittle.

Sometimes its the little things...

Yeah, it feels good when ever you can take care of a problem yourself, big or small. :-)

Speedometer is still working great, but unfortunately the rough idle issue is back - it still has a miss in it. Could a diagnostic machine tell me where the miss is and why it is happening?

Have you tried cleaning the IAC? I'm pretty sure one of those diagnostic machine could tell you exactly where your problem is.

I replaced the IAC about a month ago... I think I will have a diag test done, to help me down the path a bit quicker...
