Im having to choose right now between buying a stock 2002 saleen s281 s/c (warranty almost up) with 35,000 miles and a 2003 cobra with full bassani, kenne bell s/c, 4:10s (just to name a few of the mods)and 18,500 miles. The problem is that the car is going to be my daily driver and I love the way the saleen looks but I love the power the cobra has to offer. however, Im worried that 560 rear wheel horsepower and 4:10 gears will be WAY to much for a daily driver. what do you guys think?

Either car is a winner... you wil get used to the HP. But you may not get use to the gas station visits.

If I could, then I would most certainly deliver a punishing, swift, and powerful kick to your nuts. That's not a decision, get the cobra, pick up a bodykit later if you need it, preferrably not.

I decided Im gonna buy the saleen for these reasons:
1. the previous (and only) owner is a machinist so he took care of it.
2. I could get used to 560 HP but the parts would wear down very fats as a daily driver and I dont want to spend all my time (and money) replacing parts.
3. the saleen isnt the last car that Im ever going to buy -Ill probably keep it and mod it through college and then start a new project (or get a 2012/13/14 shelby GT 500 when I graduate)

i dont think the cobra parts are gonna 'wear down' as fast as you may think. theres a guy on here w/ 650 rwhp kenne bell cobra and he drives it every day. its all about the tune. no offense, sounds like you should just get a v6 and put a body kit on it. save your money cuz your gonna need as much as possible to help you thru school.

dude you've go to get the cobra. Somebody I know owns a 700+hp cobra. Guess what? It is a daily driver. You need to get that cobra.
