Default 96 SVT Cobra idle problem

Hello,
I am new to this site and new to mustangs. I just bought this car this weekend and have a idle problem. When I take off and shift through the gears and them come to a complete stop the car will idle at around 2k and them come down to normal. It will do it everytime you take off and come to a stop. What do you guys think it could be. Thanks for any help or info you guys can give me.

Try cleaning the IAC vavle with Throttle Body cleaner, That will cause high idle issues. Then unplugged battery for 10 min after cleaning so engine relearns.

Youre suppose to replace it but many have cleaned it (including myself) and works perfect.

My guess is this is your problem..Good luck

Where are you in florida if you don't mind my asking?

Also, to try and help with your problem, really check all your vacuum lines, and check for any sort of leaky gaskets/cold air intake or any leaks in the intake system.
