96 Cobra still running 'warm'
Hey guys,
In early June, I took my Cobra to the dealer and the SCV trainied guy to dx. why the temp guage was run almost in the red after driving for a few miles .
He wanted to replace the radiatior/thermostat with the explanation it was plugged . Estimate was $550 with after market radiator. I paid them $ 45 for thier time and left.
I ordered a radiator from Am Muscle (? started with M) and new thermostat and put and installed it in my drive way.
Still runs 'hot'.
Especially with the AC --- runs hotter sooner.
A coulpe of times with the old radiatior, it had 'dumped' approx a gallon under the car.
?????
thanks/Fuzzy

Have you checked your oil levels and how clean your oil is because that can cause your car to over heat and if that's good wreell check your oil connections maybe their is a small puncture somewhere and it's not getting enough

You might replace the water pump too while you are at it. It is a breeze on the modular motors. No hoses to disconnect. Also - be sure to "burp" the cooling system or air will be trapped inside and cause it to run hot. I learned this when I did all of the above on my 97 Cobra.
