Default 1996 Cobra "coolant crossover pipe"

I have a 1996 cobra that despite have over 100,000 miles on it still runs really well. Over the course of the cars life I have tried to maintain it as best I can. what started as a slight blemish under the hood I'm afraid is going to turn into a big problem.

Last year I went to my loca Ford dealer and talked the parts guy, who I know really well. What I am calling the "coolant crossover pipe" is rusting and according to the parts guy there is no replacement part. He told me that they only used that part on 1996 cobra by 1997 they had changed it to a different part.

I'm afraid that rust will eat through the pipe and I'll be screwed. Any suggestions?

here is a link to a image of a stock 1996 cobra, that pipe I am talking about is the one that bends around the alternator in a "u" shape. Thanks for any help.

The coolant cross-over tube looks identical to the same one I have on my 01 Cobra. I do not see a difference. If you can not obtain a new one then I would pull the part, have it sand blasted or bead blasted whatever they do, and have it powder coated.

+1 on getting it off and powder coated before it gets to pitted from rust.
And I'm pretty sure all 96/98 cobra's use the same crossover
MMR does sell a kit if you feel like going with AN fittings

Me to only because it will clean up the engine bay. But I can't justify the $ for looks when mine looks and works perfectly

I took mine off and painted it when I cleaned my imrcs. I just sanded well and used high temp spraypaint... Been well over a year and its held up well.
