Wheel stretch?

Wheel stretch?
I have a 1999 Cobra, and just ordered 10.5x19 wheels with 20mm offset, and want to run 265/50r19 federal 595. Only problem is the federals are only made to have a rim width of 9.5, which is 1 inch short of what I really need. I/m hoping that with an inch of stretch I'll be okay and won't have to worry about blow outs when doing pulls. I've ran a set of 10.5's on my car with almost 2.5 inches of stretch and got a blow out almost immediately (they were test tires and wheels, wasn't planning on running that much stretch for long). Any advice with this would be greatly appreciated!

There is a reason why manufacturers have specifications and recommendations. Follow them and you will be happy, don't as you have already experienced and you won't be happy. Why flirt with disaster? That little patch of tire on the ground is the only thing keeping you safe.

Stretching tire sidewalls to fit oversized rim widths is ghetto and dangerous. All it takes is taking a corner at just the right speed and and your tire will conveniently unmount itself from the rim leaving you to under steer into whatever is directly ahead of your car in the direction you are traveling.
Either buy 9.5" wide rims or buy wider tires made to fit a 10.5" rim.
