Does anyone have a stock 99 or 01 cobra w/ a T56 tranny? If so, what rear gear do you run?

99/01's did not come w/ a T56 tranny.

I believe it was a 3650?? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

So if a 99/01 has a T56, it would not be stock.

What if you had a 99/01 cobra and you swapped the stock tranny for a t56, what rear gear then? 3.73s?

Given the engine's RPM band and torque curve, I would think you would want a 3.73, or if they make if for the Mustang, a 3.93 (there is an aftermarket kit for the Corvette with this ratio that Ecklers sells, but I don't know if anyone sells this for a Mustang. A 4.10 would be a bit too high of a ratio --- at least for me)

I don't really understand your question but the stock gears for an 03/04 T56 is 3:55.

If you want to upgrade this 3:90 is the best all around choice.

I wasn't very clear when I started the thread, sorry.

Let me explain. I have an 03 GT with a stock 3650 tranny. Eventually, I'm giong to swap the 3650 with a T56 6 speed. I currently have a stock 3.55:1 final drive. I'm going to be doing some n/a bolt ons on top of my exhaust set up already and plan to make about 330 or so crank hp. I really like the gear ratios of the T56. The 3650 1st and 2nd I'm not too pleased with, including the stepping of each gear. I won't have nearly the hp or torque to keep the 3.55's, so I know I'll need to step up the rear some. I am thinking about 3.73s but I know a lot of guys in the forum like 4.10s. 50% of my driving will be in the city, 50% hwy doing some 75 to 80 mph. I don't like to race my car, but I want to feel something every so often when I get into the throttle. I also want some good pickup when I'm cruising in 5th or 6th.

I hope this is more to work with. Any suggestions?

I'm gonna stick w/ 3:90's for your described driving habits.......Good Luck.

Stay with the 3.55 if you plan on doing any long distance driving. 3.73 and above will eat gas like crazy...
