suspention noise
I lowered my 01 Cobra, changed struts, springs, caster camber plates, bumpsteer kit, rack & pinion lowering bushings. sway bar links.
I am getting a noise like something is hitting or bottoming out on the pasenger side. I have checked everything several times, to make sure everything is tightened to spec. no play in ball joint. Does anyone have any Idea what this could be?

RE: suspention noise
If everything is tight, then there is a really good chance that your exhaust system is hitting your rear axle assembly. I had/have this problem with my 97 as it is lowered 2" with a Flowmaster catback exhaust that the previous owner put on there. When I got under the car it wasn't extremely obvious until I ran my hand along the axle housing and felt the divots. As this previous owner was not worthy of owning a cobra, ragging it out without paying the reaper, now it is just one of the 100s of things that I am fixing to make it right...There really can not be anything else making that noise unless something was loose. You would know that something was loose if you get that same noise when initially applying torque to the rear end in either first or reverse. If that is the case, you definitely missed a bolt. Most likely it would be the control arm.

RE: suspention noise
I have the same problem. I lowered my 2001 Cobra and put on the 2000 R 18" rims and tires at the same time. I get that knock when the car's weight shifts (like when I go from forward to reverse), sometimes over bumps and turning at the same time, and sometimes when I hit the breaks suddenly. It really sux that I took it to an SVT dealer in NY and they heard the noise but could not diagnose it. My local mechanic (who can fix anything) was helpless too. It really bugs me and will likely make the car harder to sell if a buyer test drives it. I don't think I would buy a car making this noise.
