Hi All,

Is there anyone in the Houston area, preferably on the south side (I'm off of I-45 down toward Galveston), that has an H pipe resonator delete on their 15-17 GT with the stock mufflers? This is a change I'm considering making but all the research I've done leads me with conflicting opinions on exactly how much louder this modification makes the car. Some say only slightly louder and others seem to say a lot louder. I know all this is subjective which is why I'd like to hear what it sounds like for myself. I wouldn't mind the car being a little louder than it is but I don't want it to be obnoxiously so and the only way I can be certain it meets those criteria is to hear it for myself.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. I have a very flexible schedule so I can meet you just about anytime and I don't mind driving to pretty much any part of the Houston area. Thanks!

 

I had a 94 GT had a H pipe with Flowmasters, too loud and a lot of resonation. Put the stock system on with the H pipe, perfect! Very close to the same performance as well.

 

Thanks ATIcustomercare, I've got the convertible. I love the car but even with the top down, it's a bit to the quiet side. Never thought I'd say that as I'm really conservative about these things. I've read that the H/X pipes help performance a little bit but I'm really not that worried about that part of it. If it helps the performance a little, that's great, but I'm really just interested in improving the sound a bit but without risking alienating the neighbors.

 

mine was also a convertible. with just the h pipe it was more throaty than loud. sounded great on the highway

I have the resonator delete on my 2016 GT with stock mufflers and absolutely love it. It is very throaty in the lower gears and sounds wickedly good at high RPM. However, when cruising along in 6th gear at lower RPM, it is nicely subdued but still more noticeable than stock...in a good way.
