5th Gen Camaro owners have some competition
#14
I think that the MSRP will go up $2,000 and it will be priced just under $30,000. That would make it very competitive with the Camaro. Ford will not sell very many new Mustangs if it prices their car $4,000+ over it's main competition.
I'd guess the engine will either weigh in around the same as the 3v 4.6L or a bit less. More valves and cams add weight, aluminum block removes weight.
The 6 speeds will probably weigh a bit more then the current transmissions.
I'd guess the new '11 will weigh in at a similar weight to the '10. If not a few pounds heavier.
Thanks Stk. I quickly scanned the Bench Racing Section looking for a thread on this topic, saw "5th Gen Camaro........." and thought this thread had nothing to do w/the new 5.0. Whoops.

Not to mention a lot of dealers are gonna be marking these cars up so they can extract a few extra thou out of the early adopters who must have it now.

7 grand? The MSRP on a 2010 GT is only 28? That's a shocker to me. I thought they were already over 30. There are two premiums on a local lot with a sticker of over 35 right now.

They will definitely be marked up when they come out. Camaro was and iirc 2005 Mustang GT's were selling for $5k over stick all day long. Simple supply and demand.
You mean like the L99 Camaro's? It's more likely that they underrate them. That's what Fords been known to do since the '99 Cobra debacle.
