go to court, dont get a lawyer(waste of money). in my experience, the prosecutor will usually see that you showed up and make you a deal before your case comes up and you have to plead.(if there's a deal to be had), if not trying to bs the court will usually get you nowhere,(they see this all day long). pay the fine, slow down, and move on.

How about next time don't pass cars while speeding, and use the brake instead of the throttle. The throttle usually gets people IN to trouble, and the brake usually gets them OUT of trouble.

call the number on the back of the ticket, contest the ticket and get a court date, then talk to the prosecuter in court........ you were doing 17 over the limit so thats a 4 point ticket which is nasty....... talkin to the prosecuter you might get it down to no points and "operating a vechical in a unsafe manar" which costs alot but no points...... or get a lawer and we will do all this without you being involved...... overall i would fight it.... cheaper then payin a high premium for 3 years.... I've beat the last 5 speeding tickets I've received. Here's how you do it. Contact the prosecutor for the district that you received the ticket and request a discovery package. (send a copy of this letter to the police station also) In this discovery package request the calabration certificates of all the radar equipment used at the police station. Also request a copy of the daily calabration log that each officer is supposed to fill out. The law is that the radar must be calabrated once a year by an outside contractor to insure the equipment is working properly. It's just easier for the police to lose a ticket ever so often then it is for them to send the radars out. You wont receive a reply to your request because the radar will be out of date. Appear in court and have the ticket thrown out because you were denied a right to a fair trial by not receiving the discovery package. Trust me I've used this defense and it works. EVER TIME! If you dont believe me just do an internet search on how to beat a radar issued speeding ticket and see what advice they give you.

Pay a lawyer. All the tickets I've had I just went and paid a lawyer and I've gotten out of all of them and never once had to show up in court. It'll cost ya less than $400 and you'll get rid of all the hassle.

I was really worried about him.. he got a girlfriend(now wife) who straightened him out though.. he is doing really well now and I no longer worry.. funny thing is the biggest loser/youngest kid in my family bought a house before the rest of us (4 bros/sisters).. really shocked us.. I've actually never heard of anyone (i know) keeping a ticket after asking for the radar info.
