I think the problem with a lot of articles like that, is the writers have an aversion in general to American cars a lot of the time, and Ford just seems to ALWAYS be getting picked on. It's nothing new though, Europe in the 60's bad mouthed Ford, even as they were losing in Le Mans and had to continually get the rules changed to eliminate Ford cars from competing.

I wish for once someone would actually do a legitimate comparison just on performance alone, and not let it be slanted one way or the other by people's personal views. Give credit where credit is due.

Remember a while back where someone did an article that was supposed to be like that, comparing the Z06 to a turbo Porsche and a Lambo etc, and even though the Z06 ranked highest in all the performance categories....they rated it dead last in performance because it didn't have the style or elegant interior of the European counterparts.

It just seems that there are a lot of "professional automotive journalists" out there that have to bad mouth American cars, Ford in particular. Or they skew the results of their "testing."

Tons of other coupes and the such. I can't recall the magazine that did it. IIRC they were running it around a track, maybe the Ring, and getting the track time. The Mustang was a few seconds behind the Camaro and EVERYTHING they tested, even the high end exotics, were a few seconds behind the ZR1.

I was at the strip last weekend and saw an S2000 run a low 14 @ 99MPH. I'm pretty sure I'm going to win against most S2000's. We'll see. The race isn't the fun part, the post-race excuses are.

Just don't race it through any twisties and you'll be fine.

Twisties on the street is probably the worst idea ever, regardless of car. Back when I had a Miata, it was fun to see how close the S2000's and Miatas went at it.

They're great handling cars, but most of these asshats with S2000's just street race in them anyway.

I suppose that's true with most people in anything that "race" though. A lot of people like to screw around and talk about how fast they are, but never actually go somewhere to prove it for certain. Sadly, there are guys with 600hp Vipers that go to road courses and post slower lap times than someone in a stock S2K! There are moron street racers everywhere.

I remember when I went autocrossing in my CRX that I was within a second of two different Vipers that were out there. I'm sure in the right hands, that wouldn't have been the case, but it amused me regardless.
