It's confusing to me about the whole tire thing. Slicks are supposed to absorb a lot of the drivetrain shock due to the way they wrinkle, eliminate wheel hop, etc.... But the increased RPM that is required to launch on them adds a substantial amount of stress. So are they harder on the drivetrain or no?

When are you girls going to be able to run?

I'd say they are, but less likely to break something than a set of DR's.

I launched at 4,000 RPM's with my '11 GT with a MT82 when I was NA (423 RWHP) and had a best of a 1.68 60' time on 295/45/17 MT DR's on the stock clutch.

I launched at 4,500 RPM's with the Procharger (551 RWHP) and had a best of a 1.61 60' time on 28 x 11.5 x 17 MT ET Streets (bias ply) with my Mcleod dual disc clutch.

My old LS1 car went 1.66 with a stall/headers/555r's.....you guys are doing it wrong, or GM is. Oh, I had a lid too. Silly me.

yea apparently the launches on these chinese boxes aren't the problem, its the shifting that can be a pita. Very well could be driver error (on my part anyways), but to 'miss' 2nd 4 out of 6 times at the track, then 3 more times during street runs the same night, is kinda weird. That was just one particular night. I will say I am having far less problems as of late, so hopefully that trend keeps going.

As for the run, I don't see the 5-oh outlaunching the goat, the way things are now. With the future racestar setup in the plans, of course that would tilt things the other.

It'll be interesting to see if Maraman will be able to close the gap that Morbid 'should' put on him from a dig. I think if the Goat gets anymore than a car ahead from the start, it's not going to be recoverable until at least 100 mph.

yep.. big wheels are hurting you, but with the cai+tuner combo you should be sitting somewhere around 405whp in a 3700lbs car.. if you had the racestars i'd say you will beat him no matter how you race as long as you dont miss a gear. As it is i still think it's your race to lose, well driven with the race stars you have a 11.9@117ish car(ive only seen autos manage it so far though, i haven't checked in awhile, maybe a cai+tune+tires car has done it since i last looked) it's gotta be hard to shift it perfectly through the 6 speed at 7200rpm, those upper rpms go by so fast.

To be honest, not quite sure. Hopefully some time in early spring.

Morbid has a little complications with the GTO at the moment. I'll let him decide whether or not he wants to post it on here.

As long as everything works out should be as soon as possible though.

13 points on my license and mom crashed her continental so I'm letting her use the thing until she can buy a new car... She's got an old explorer lined up but I've been warning her about them exploders
