03 Mustang GT - looking at the Diablosport U7146. I want to improve performance, use 87 octane, and turn off my PATS. Can the Diablosport do all that or do I need a custom program?

You will need a custom tune to disable PATS. But the improved performance and 87 octane can be done with the canned tunes.

 

Why do you want to disable PATS? What's the advantage (besides to would-be car thiefs)?

 

Yeah, unless you are having some sort of PATS issue, I would not disable it, but it can be done in a custom tune if you desire.

 

you won't notice much gains trying to tune a stock 03 gt with 87 octane, you'll pick up in the midrange and improve your mpg's but thats about it

best bet would be to step your game up to 93 octane or leave well enough alone, then again the gains aren't impressive to some, if you want a fast modular the answer is boost, turbos over blowers
