I have a 08 gt/cs with sct obdII tuned. It failed emissions so I put it back to stock setting and after driving for bout 20 miles it started missing and check engine light came on. Ran so bad I didn't think I would make it home. It even started backfiring and would barely run. Got home and put it back to tune and it's running fine. It also has tunable cai. on it. Anyone know what could be wrong? I need to get inspection sticker!!!

 

You apparently need the tune to run the CAI. Remove both tune and cai and should correct your problem.

Sct should read codes thrown from c.e.l. which should lead you to the trouble.

 

Sounds like there are some OBDII params turned off in your custom tune, you'll need to either have them re-enabled or load the stock tune and intake for the test.

ok, i put the stock cai back on and set back to stock with sct. check engine light is staying off now, but immediately it started making a weird noise. its kind of a whistle but its not constant. then when i turned the engine off it did it constantly for a few seconds. any ideas? sorry if im not describing this very well, im a girl and really no nothing about all this!

 

sounds like a vacumm leak. Most likely from the hoses that connect to the CAI since thats what you were working with. pop the hood w car running to see if you can pin point the whistling sound.
