Bama tune ping need help fast
I have a 2002 mustang gt with a JLT CAI that puts the air filter in the fender, magnaflow cat back and the SCT TSX tuner with an 87 street and 87 preformance and 91 track tunes and when I run the 87 tunes my car pings with quick stabs at the gas or when I stand on it in 4th gear what should I do also i have replaced my fuel filter 500 miles ago. should I replace my spark plugs as im sure there OEM from when the car was built.
Hmmm... our 87 octane tunes are REALLY conservative in terms of timing. It's possible that you may have had a vacuum leak that the even weaker factory timing and fueling parameters were masking, and kept it from pinging. Now, we optimize the air/fuel ratio and add a little bit of timing (not much on 87, though) and it brings to life our issue.
Give the Bama team a call at any time at the number/hours in my signature and have them just go over the tune. Have them verify the mods that were submitted on the tune form compared to what you actually have in the car. Have them also verify that they wrote each custom tune correctly. From there, if no problems are found they can help walk you through getting it diagnosed. If they find a problem, it could just be that easy - an email update and you're good to go!
