A better idea...buy a 7.5 rearend...change out the gears when you can, keep driving then when you're ready take one out and put one in. A real posi would be much better than a t-lock...is there a 7.5 posi?
He has a 7.5 rearend stock...the change out the gears part is right, though.

BUY a SECOND rearend....drive while you are putting in gears in the SECOND..KEEP the OEM stock rearend for future reference (sale) put in the SECOND rearend when you're ready.

it's not rwhp..it is rwtq
Umm, it would be neither.. You do not gain any power from gears.. They help you get through the powerband faster.

Why not just save up and do everything all at once.. Forget the added cost of buying another rearend.

What benefits?? A good shop will not take that long to install gears and a t-lok, plus you wouldn't have to spend money on buying an axle. Plus, looking for the rearend and then trying to sell your old one.. Not worth the hassle of just waiting.
