Why a v6???
Get the car that makes you happiest, the one that suits your style and is comfertable to you. My Stang rides like I have no shocks, thats just the truth about stangs, about a 1000lbs weight limit for passengers and cargo but it feels damn closer to 600. The ride is smooth and comfertable with 1 person or two very light people, but thats it, anything over that and your going to be hitting bumps hella hard and bottoming out on speed bumps and all that ****. I have to haul around 3 other people sometimes in my car, It hates it!
For listening to other people on this one, it shoulds like the GTP is your best bet for power and comfert. I would go with a V6 Camaro just because I dont like GM's design of the V6 mainly because I am not as familiar with it as I am with the 3.8. Eventually I may dabble in a GM V6 but for now im stricktly Ford V6 and Chevy V8. When I can afford it I will be a Ford V8 too [8D]
There are Turbo kits you can buy for your GTP too that will make it even crazier. And of course there are ways to make it rear wheel drive if you have the money.
As for being told that you should not start off with a RWD car just because its your first car, I really dont believe in that. Start off in whatever car you want. A FWD or AWD car handles better in snow and rain then the RWD cars but if you take the time to practice then its no problem. I learned in a 87 T-Bird V6, a 1970 Chevelle 396/500 and a 1975 El Camino 350/240 As you can see they are all RWD and have a huge variation in power ratings But im fine now [8D] Ive never gotten into an accident and infact when I was learning I tried to get the car to lose controll in isolated area's on different surafaces so that I could gain a feel for what it would be like if something were to happen, and that paid off big time.
In 2002 I had to drive my El Camino daily through Reddings Monsoonal weather on 10" BALD tires. If you think you know hydroplaning then you dont know JACK! LOL Basicly what I am getting to is that if you prepair yourself and teach yourself accordingly then there is no need to start out with something as safe as FWD or AWD. But again it comes down to parental choices and personal choices.
Good Luck and keep us informed.

Dooooo WHAT???? Im sorry, but either you have absolutly NO idea WTF you are talking about (imagine that on the mustang forums !) or you are confused about what car we are talking about.
Never seen/heard of a turbo kit. Its got a SUPERCHARGER stock. That would be an insane amount of money to spend on something that really isnt nessicary. Just change the stock pully, or change the stock supercharger out for a bigger one. And why the hell/how the hell are you going to convert a GTP to rear wheel drive? That doesnt even make any since. There is absolutly no reason to convert a gtp to rear wheel drive. Not only that, but I cant even imagine the headaches you would have even starting to attempt to THINK about doing this. Damm near impossible. Would have to basically destroy the car anyway.
In other words:
Nowhere in your idiotic rambling did you come close to anything that could be considered a coherent, intelligent thought. We are all now dumber for having read that. I award him no points and may God have mercy on his soul.
(just a modified quote, I dont hate you THAT much)

I havent noticed anything from his car. 280 ft/lb is stock for these cars, absolutly NO torque steer.
Hell I can feel torque steer out of my Civic when I'm on it in cold weather on semi cold tires...and that's with 111 ft lbs. When I had the 04 Spec V and 180 ft lbs I could feel it even when I wasn't mashing the pedal through the floor.
Eh sorry about the turbo thing I was thinking about another car at the time that I wrote that. I know what a GTP is but im ****ing tired as ****. Here is the link for that turbo kit on the car I was talking about. http://www.turbochargedpower.com/Pon...Grand%20Am.htm Sorry, I wasnt thinking correctly on that one, but was just a slip.
As for the rear wheel drive thing, Im not saying do it and there wont be any headaches at all. Im just saying you could do it if you really wanted. Hell look at the bolt in conversion kit for a RWD V8 Focus, heh, I think thats cool
If you want a link to that conversion thing for the Focus just say so and I will go through my bookmarks when im more awake.
I seem to f*ck my posts up alot when im really tired, so im going to bed, nite guys

the only bad thing about the gtp is the transmissions tend to go pretty quickly if the car is modded. they are quick for what they are i had a hard tome pulling away from one in my ATI procharged 98 3.8 stang. i have a 97 3800 firebird also with the W68 sport package i`ts a nice car and the 3800 is pretty quick for being a 3700lb car but there aren`t many options in modding it except for a RKsport powerdyne blower. all in all the GTP is a better choice if your not going to mod it heavy (and they do have torque steer but not as bad as you`d think) the v6 ford is a good choice if you plan on modding though

Driving it, and putting the pedal on the floor in first gear...you've NEVER felt torque steer out of it?? You must not really know what torque steer is...
