Default quick question...

Last night when my brother and I left the restaurant that my family and I ate at we were going home....anyway, my brother and I ended up going at it on a lil tiny strip which was kinda stupid cause it was in the city still. But anyway, when i drove by him he decided to floor it and I saw him coming so I downshifted to second as I was in fourth and the rpm's werent that high when I was driving. Well when I shifted to second the rpms went to about 6500 mayb a lil less not exactly sure but then I fairly quickly went to third. So I was wondering if that is going to hurt my engine any? I appreciate any replies...

P.S. - I did end up pulling past him , he was driving his rebuilt Yukon

Not gonna hurt it. Just don't do it too often

redlines are arbitrary. you can go above them without consequence. it just matters how far you go above them and how long you stay up there.

Umm..Yup! Eventually you won't have any gears to grind. But that will take a long time.

Yea, like the amount of time it's gonna take old fart Harvey to get fat and gray haired. Sorry, I just had to say it.
