1994 mustang Fuel Injection problems.
OK I'm a new Mustang owner so I'll start out by telling you what I know about the car and hopefully you can help me
The car's a 1994 3.8 liter mustang that I bought from a police impound auction. The car was running very poorly when I bought it and was even spitting raw fuel out the exhaust.
I was only firing on 3 cyl. and found out that several cyl. were below 125 pounds of compression. Adding oil to the cyl and performing another compression test was giving me no boost in compression so that was a pretty good sign this motor was going to need rebuilt.
I found it cheaper to buy an entire motor than rebuilding this one. I bought a motor out of a 1998 3.8 and put it in and used the electronics off of my 94. Got the motor in and everything and the motor immediatley starts flooding out and I'm getting some gas in the oil. I beliefs are that an injection problem caused the rings to get washed out on the old motor. So even though I've replaced the motor I'm still running into what possibly ruined the old motor.
Here's where I'm really thrown for a loop. If I get down to where the injector rail is and pull it off with the wires hooked up and turn the key to the on position I'm getting 3 injectors that just start spraying gas. I initially thought these injectors were stuck open but if you move the wires around the problem goes with the wires. Just to clarify the injectors are coming on before the car is started.
Now I've figured out what's causing the car to flood but really have no Idea on how to fix it. The local mechanics shop said the CCRM needs replaced but I hate to spend another 200 bucks if this isn't the problem. I'm turning circles trying to get this car going!!!!!
Any ideas are appreciated!
