Default CAI installation problem

Hey guys, I got my CAI last night and am tring to install it right now. There is a problem though. it seems the vacuum line opening on the teflon/rubber piece that hooks up the throttl body is in the wrong place, and it wont fit proper;y. Am I doing anything wrong? Cant get pics up though, so I hope someobdy here can help. This is teh kit I got:

Do you mean the tubing from the engine seems too short to reach the CAI? If so, I had the same problem. Let me know and I"ll post solution pics.

Yea if thats the case then you have to get a hose from an autoparts store. They are more then likely gonna give you a gas line. Thats what I had to get for mine. Its tough to get on but it gets the job done.

Fixed it. Just needed a new fitting and some vacuum line. No biggie. Thanks anyways.

Thanks guys, and Rook6 for being willing to provide pics and such. New problem though. NOW it seems like my car is getting horrible gas
milage. Its not due to a case of lead foot, and it seems to have started after I got my CAI on yesterday. Also, the "Service Engine Soon" light came on after installation, as expected. Only problem is, it hasnt gone away yet. It was my understanding that the ECU only needed about a half hour to recalibrate the MAF sensor. Any suggestions?[&o]

Check for vacuum leaks. Better yet, get the code read and then post it.

^ I can get the code by tuesday. i'll check for vacuum leaks tonight. WOuld a possible leak lead to lowered MPG?
