Default When to Shift?

I have an 84 2.3L mustang, non turbo. With 4 speed manual. What is the best RPM to shift at? I shift around 3000-3400. Thanks

it varies for all cars... best way to do it is keep going, keeping one eye on the road, other on the tach, until you feel the car no longer quickly accelerating or you reach the red line... whichever is first... then you have your ideal shift zone... or you can do what I do and just go... and shift whenever I feel the need to...

where you're shifting now is about where I do on my truck, it'll be best for the engine and power to cruise around 2000rpm, that's about the only thing I can think of to add...
