ok sorry guys for another cai post. i know there are a million others that i could look through but i figured someone would be willing to help. i'm gonna get a cai in a couple weeks when i get the $$ but i have some q's. first, i have heard a lot of check engine lights going on and was wonderin why this happens, how often does it happen, and how can it be fixed? second, i was hopin to get a cai without a constant whistle, more of jsut a sucking in when i shift. which of you guys have a cai that sounds really nice? And finally, i know this is a broad question but i want to know from you guys, which ones do you have and which one would you personally reccomend? Again sorry for the post but thats wat u guys are here for right?

Get a good quality CAI. Like K&N or MAC, and you won't have those problems.

Personally i got the MAC CAI from autobadges.com, i have had it for about a month and a half and im very satisfied with it. my check engine light didnt come on but i have to addmitt wen i was working with the mass air flow sensor i treat it like it was a baby, i was very careful with it because i figured being careful with it was worth saving the money of replacing it.

do you have the straight shot cai or the one that goes into the fenderwell? which one is better/easier to install and which would you reccomend? I have a 99 3.8 so its between the normal cold air induction system or the straight shot: http://macperformance.com/store/cate...ategory_ID=454
oh and one more thing, the 73 mm t/b is not the stock t/b right?

Straight shot is by far easier to install. And dispite what some might think, there isn't much IF ANY diference in performance. And NO 73mm is not stock for a 6er. closer to 60mm.

no thats not the stock TB size, and if the intake is not ported to match it is not doing anything, as for the straight shot vs fenderwell its all just your opinion
