I just picked up a 1991 LX convertible with a standard shift 2.3 engine. The tranny has some problems like jumping out of 1st gear and whining in 3rd. I crawled under the car and noticed that this car already had a tranny swap from a factory automatic to the standard. I have access to a free automatic tranny and was thinking of going back to the auto so wifey can drive the car. My question is this: Is the drive shaft different from a standard to an automatic? I am assuming it is but not sure.
